Don’t you wish you could take your old car back to the dealership and say “I have enough steel, wires, rubber and upholstery to make a new car.  Would you please create a new car for me and only charge me a labor fee.”

They would probably laugh at you but we jewelers can do this often for a small labor fee.  We can take your stones out, melt the metal, fashion a new design and set your stones perhaps for only a few hundred dollars and you could possibly end up with a piece of jewelry worth thousands.  Now wouldn’t that be great!

Lately we have been taking customers old gold and jewelry and making it into new rings, bangle bracelets, peace signs, hearts, etc.  Things that are relatively easy and that do not require huge labor charges.  So go through your jewelry boxes and lock boxes and pick out what you no longer like to wear or never liked much and let’s see what we can do with it.

With gold hovering over $1400 an ounce it may make sense to re-make it into something that you will wear. If you take a look at upscale magazines such as Town & Country you’ll see that more than half of their jewelry advertisements are and have been featuring yellow gold.

One example below was made from a customers old gold and resulted in a solid bangle bracelet weighing almost two ounces and scatter-set with her multi sized diamonds.

We have also made them with no gems and with an opening at the bottom.
